Introduction
Hey, Anton here. Welcome to the short guide explaining some of the functionality of the custom page builder.
The custom page builder interface enables us to create pages with layouts that combine rich text, tables, and photos or images.
You can choose from the basic modules such as a table, rich text, or image and place them on a grid representing the basic layout of these components on the page.
Module Spacing and Layout
If you want to make sure that the components of the layouts are more connected, the minimal size between the two components—for instance the table here and the image right here—the minimal size is 12 pixels.
When you start moving or resizing the module, you’ll be increasing the space between the two components.
Also by controlling the font size in the case of the text, or row height in the case of the table, you’ll see that the table will span a smaller vertical space and create a space between the two modules.
If I now have row height 30 pixels and decrease this to 24, you’ll see that the table shrinks vertically and we have more space between the table and the image.
Adjusting Table Position and Row Height
If you have a situation where you would like the table to be closer to the image, what you can do is increase the row height as well as the corresponding font sizes to fill up the space for the table.
Of course you can recenter what part of the page the table takes using the resizing of each individual module.
Very shortly we’re going to add an option where you will be able to control the gap space between the modules so you’ll be able to achieve a much closer fit of the modules together.
Rich Text Editor Controls
For the text editor, you can control the fonts and the paragraphs using the controls here.
You can introduce a line break in the text with Shift + Enter.
If we look at the owner user over here, you’ll see there’s a hyphen right in the middle of the word owner.
If I locate that word in the rich text editor and right before the word owner I press Shift + Enter, you will see that now the owner user begins on a new line.
So Shift + Enter is a line break in the rich text editor.
Once I hit Enter, I’m going to introduce an extra space. It’s going to create a new paragraph starting with the word owner user.
Undo Changes and Bullet Lists
You can also undo the changes here in the rich text editor.
Undo and undo to come back to the original state.
With things like bullet lists, you’ll be able to add a space if you want the paragraph in the bullet list to be aligned on the right.
We’re also going to be adding options shortly for the text editor that enable you to set the hyphenation for the whole text block.
This will allow you to turn on hyphenation so the system will not break words into pieces with hyphens.
Upcoming Image Tools
For the images, we’re going to have an image cropping mechanism added shortly.
Closing
That’s it. I hope that this is somewhat useful.
Stay tuned for more options, customizations, and updates for the page builder that we’ll be launching very soon.
