Introduction
Welcome to this guide on how you can append or add custom pages or sections into your brochures.
Opening the Brochure Builder
We’re going to start by clicking into a deal for which we want to create a brochure with custom pages or custom sections.
We navigate to marketing materials and then to create brochure.
Here, I want to direct your attention to the brochure contents, where we see the standard sections such as the intro, asset, financials, sales comps, rent comps, and market overview.
Below that, we see custom sections and custom pages.
Adding a Custom Section
To add a custom section, we use the append custom section option and click add a section.
Here, you can upload your PDF slides. This will be the custom section you want to add to the document.
We upload a PDF and then choose the title for the custom section. For example, about our team.
You can also add subtitles for subsections. If you upload several slides, such as one page about the team and another page about company locations, your first subtitle might be about the team and the second subtitle might be locations.
Once we’re ready, we click create custom section.
Enabling and Reordering the Custom Section
The custom section will appear in the custom sections list on the right side of the screen, below the sections already included in the brochure contents.
To add this section to the document, we click the checkbox to enable it.
We can then drag and drop the section to reorder it, placing it below or after any of the existing sections in the brochure.
Adding a Custom Page
If you want to append or add a custom page, such as a retailer map or a screenshot from a financial model, we navigate to append custom page and click add my own page.
Here, we upload a PDF page and give it an internal name so we can reference it later. For example, custom page one.
We can choose whether we want to include the page header and page footer. The page header preserves the design of the brochure template.
We can also give the page a title, such as custom page one, and choose to include the footer as well.
Visibility and Page Settings
There is an option labeled visible for every property. Enabling this makes the page available in the custom pages section for other properties as well.
If the custom page is only relevant for this specific property, we can leave this option disabled.
Uploading and Formatting the Custom Page
We upload a custom page in PDF format by dragging and dropping it into the upload area.
For best results, we should use a horizontally oriented US letter format.
The content we want to display in the brochure should fit within the main content area, and the recommended resolution is 1504 by 964 pixels.
Once the page is uploaded, we click create custom page.
Placing the Custom Page in the Document
The custom page will appear in the custom pages list on the right side.
We can drag and place the page anywhere within the document. For example, between the sensitivity analysis page and the assumptions page.
Once we’re ready, we can generate the brochure to see the result.
Using Multiple Custom Sections and Pages
We can add multiple custom sections and multiple custom pages as needed.
We can also reuse these sections or pages for other properties, such as an about our team section or broker value pages.
Previewing the Final Brochure
Once the brochure is generated, we click preview.
We navigate to the financials section, and right after the sensitivity analysis page, we see the custom page that was added.
The formatting preserves the design of the template, including the header, footer, and consistent padding used throughout the brochure.
After the market overview, we also see the about our team section with its subsections, followed by the team pages.
Conclusion
We hope this guide is helpful, and see you in the next videos.
